Similarities … and not Opposites … attract!

the twins? We’ve all heard about how opposite personalities attract.. that has not been my experience. The more similar people are… the more attracted they can be to each other.

What has been rather annoying is that my wife of 35 years keeps throwing a Psychology test or two at me with a wry smile… and the results keep coming back concluding that we are very similar…. very disturbingly similar.

Laura’s Latest effort to shake my confidence in my uniqueness in our duo was a little test that measures two seemingly unrelated cognitive perspectives: the EQ (Empathising Quotient) and the SQ (Systematizing Quotient).

So…the results came in as follows: Laura’s EQ was 51 and mine was 59, Laura’s SQ was 97 and mine was 104.
This is very interesting, but a bit scary… I have always thought she knew what I was thinking. Now, I know she knows HOW I think.
Take the test… and see how much you share with others..

Congratulations on being a Weblog finalist!

Congratulations sweetheart
Laura was nominated, then was selected as a finalist in an international Blog Contest! Well, we’d all like to win… but some of these folks in the high frequency political sites kinda swept the field …  but it was fun knowing someone who was in the mix!

Congratulations, Laura, it is wonderful to know that  your beautiful site  was a part of it! We are all proud of you!  Maybe more Cal Poly sites will be there next time?

For those of you who haven’t seen the contest… here’s a link!

Who can and can NOT recruit on College Campuses

“This message has been sent to the email address provided by your
 organization.”

Non Comrads need not apply

This was the operational sentence from an email sent by  Greenpeace. What makes this fascinating is the degree of difficulty any outside organization has in distributing material via email or any other method on the campus of American Universities, in this case, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  Here is a copy of one recent email.

What makes “Greenpeace” so special? Why do emails from this organization and other left-of-center groups apparently have free reign in our public educational systems? So much for the free exchange of ideas.

What is troubling is not so much that Greenpeace has the ability to use our public institutions for their own purposes… but others — by their absence — apparently do not.
