Fans of the 'Count of Monte Cristo will recognize this scene, although the words were changed... slightly! 😉
What I love the most is bread, eggs, spices, cream and berries. I am very fond of GEORGE WASHINGTON’S eggnog with some minor tweaks, french toast and bread pudding… so why not combine how I do these things and see what happens. What happens is delicious!
Yummy! Covered with glazed nuts, roasted sesame seeds and a sauce that would make George washington proud -- including Sherry, Rye whisky, Armagnac and Rum!
Crab, diced clams, fresh crab meat ... nothing better than seafood gumbo bubbling on the stove! CLICK on the picture for our recipe. Bon Appetite!
Nothing says home to me more that a plate or bowl of seafood gumbo! The aroma fills the home and lingers in a most pleasant way and if you are lucky enough to enjoy a few helpings then you really feel like you can kick back and watch the fire flies glow that night.
Seafood Gumbo… make it for someone you love… it takes time, preparation and quality ingredients … but the smiles you receive are worth it!
Making a better Tiramisu with store bought ingredients... start with the best (Toblerone white chocolate, too!)
In making anything, it all boils down to using quality ingredients in the right generous proportions. If you take the time to make a good tiramisu… take a little more time, better ingredients and make the best!
Karen and me at the Olde Port Fish Market at the Avila Beach Pier... CLICK on the picture to visit them!
My daughters have really spoiled me this holiday season… we have baked and cooked our way through the holidays! Fortunately, seafood is dietetic? Sure it is!!!! It’s funny how you can live some place for so long and miss some of the more fun — culinarily speaking — places to dine or shop. One of my favorite seafood places in the world is the Olde Port inn and we would often go there to celebrate a special occasion… but never did I realize there was their market right next door!
Oh yeah... OYSTERS... that's what I am talking about!
smoked ham with special apricot glaze! CLICK on the picture for the glaze recipe
What’s Christmas without a special ham and a uniquely yummy glaze? The glaze takes nearly as long to make as cooking the ham… but it is worth it!
BRAIN gingerbread cookies!
You never know what will happen when my daughters come home to visit! They decided to make gingerbread cookies in the shape of the popular cellphone game “Plants vs. Zombies”… plus a tribute to their Biological Psychologist mother in the form of a Brain… ah… yummy… I guess?
