Travel Deals Are Always Around!

When they are not worknig they are traveling or traveling and worknig!
One of the things I have enjoyed about my adult children is their interest in seeing the world and meeting its people. Certainly, their travels have only just begun… but the three of them have been covering the continents and now their explorations have taken more personal interests.

One of the things I have enjoyed is helping them find great travel deals. Deals that don’t involve sleeping in a luggage compartment or stowing away on a coffee boat. Why pay $4500 to travel to Beijing from Tennessee when you can pay $1000 on Cathay Pacific or for the same price go from Los Angeles to Australia on Qantas? Obviously, rates change and there is a big asterisk as to when you have to take these trips… but it is worth it!

British Airways has remarkable deals to England right now from almost anywhere in the United States — and once there — it is a great jumping off place to the rest of the world!

So the dollar may be soft… but the great airline fares more than make up for it! So, tell me… what’s holding you back?

Christmas in San Luis Obispo & Boston!

Every neighborhood I have ever lived in always did somethng fun for the holidays. When we lived in Kingwood, Texas , folks would put up an extra lighted Christmas Tree by the curb.

In our little neighborhood in San Luis Obispo, California we have put up ‘Luminarias.’

Sometimes I miss the white Christmas experience of living in the east ( Laura thinks I am crazy) … but I have always loved the snow. My cousin Ingrid sent me the following pictures that make me feel so much better.

Jenny Craig & Event Planning

It's a whole new world being thin

Part of losing weight is how good you feel. Everyone tells you this, but when you actually get there, you discover to your amazement that it is actually true! You feel great!

I weigh myself only once a week, and if the results are there ( meaning progress to the goal weight which is now only 2 lbs away)… then I plan an event.  Karen  being a PR guru knows all about ‘event planning.’

My events are simple meals. Smoorvis (South African) and Fried Catfish & Hush Puppies  ( Huck Finns in Tennessee)  are two fun meals I have on the horizon. Huck Finns will be easy as they supply everything… but the catfish.

As Forest Mars Sr. was fond of saying, ‘there has to be a prize for playing this game.’ And in the game of  Jenny Craig  it is ‘event planning.’
