Brandeis University’s Arrogant Persecution of an Innocent Man

Brandeis is not a nice place

It’s not that Donald Hindley is a former Trojan that I rush to his defense… although that is certainly reason enough! It is hard to see an academician being railroaded by an administration to meet some politically motivated objective… or as best said by Fire’s Greg Lukianoff:

“I have no idea whether Brandeis simply has a grudge against Professor Hindley or if it is simply too arrogant to admit that it has done something wrong here, but I do not believe that administrators can continue to plead innocence in the face of the facts, the virtually nonexistent procedure, and the condemnation in the media and by students and faculty. Brandeis has made a terrible mess here. It is time to clean it up.”

The story is an old one heard all around the country in universities that lack proper oversight of their zealous administrations and faculty… the persecution of innocents, the punishment of constitutionally protected free speech and the closing of the American Academic Mind.

Brandeis University is not alone in their ruthlessness… but they are guilty none-the-less.

the City Of Berkeley just got Uglier

where all the weirdos call home
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any weirder in Berkeley… their City Council decided to make a grand stand against the Military. Oh, it might have gotten a series of chuckles … I think I will just drive on by from now on. Here’s what their mayor had to say:

“I believe in the Code Pink cause. The Marines don’t belong here, they shouldn’t have come here, and they should leave,” said Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates ….

John McCain Rocks!

Rudy endorses john
I have nothing but admiration for Rudy and his endorsement of John McCain is nothing less than a real class act.

Having lived and worked in crime capital of New York City in the 70’s and witnessed the transformation under Rudy … I was amazed! His leadership after 911 was no less spectacular. Here’s an excerpt of an email Rudy sent to everyone who supported him:

‘Our nation’s next President must understand and make a commitment to keep us on offense in the Terrorists’ War on Us. He must understand that stimulating our economy requires cutting taxes, because you make better decisions with your money than Washington bureaucrats. He must be committed to ending illegal immigration and securing our borders. And he must use free-market principles to make health care more affordable for all Americans.

I believe John McCain is that man. He is the right leader to move us forward, unite our party and transform Washington. I hope that you will join me in supporting him to be the next President of the United States.

As I look forward to the road ahead, I am optimistic because I believe America’s best days are still to come. Our country has a bright future, but we must work together to ensure that our shared prosperity creates new and better opportunities for us all.’

Best Wishes,

Rudy

Indoctrinate U. and today’s University

Did indoctrinate U. Make me Famous?
For those of you who haven’t heard about what’s happenin’ on college campuses today…let’s just say … it’s not all good.

Evan Coyne Maloney has produced a fascinating film — entitled ” Indoctrinate U.” — on what might be called ‘political correctness’ on college campuses.

One review:

“The Weekly Standardsaid, “The documentary combines relatively shocking footage (one professor excitedly tells the camera “whiteness is a form of racial oppression . . . treason to whiteness is loyalty to humanity”) with snappy editing to create a documentary that bounces quickly from subject to subject.”

Upcoming screenings of the film can be found on their site!

On one hand, on many campuses there exists a hyper-sensitivity to sexually displaying a banana on a campus, ‘hurting’ or ‘offending’ someone’s feelings…. whereas displaying our American Flag could become grounds for suspension some places. The inmates are running the asylum.

So, what has this to do with me? Yep, I may be in the film. For 7 years, my wife — the professor — struggled for existence with Cal Poly San Luis Obispo … and succeeded. And what happened to — in my humble opinion — the “bad guys?”... they eventually all received big raises and promotions.

If you get a chance… check it out. If it hadn’t happened to me… I’d be laughing.

Ted Turner’s “Ted-istan” is one Big Little Country!

If I could be KingOkay, our friend Ted I-wanna-own-the-world Turner just locked up 2,000,000 acres. Now, I don’t know about you… but I suspected he always wanted to own his own little country… and now he has it. For the easy conversion, his holdings translate into approximately 3125 square miles ( or a block roughly 55 miles by 55 miles)!

Ted-istan is about 60% the size of Puerto Rico or about 2.5 times the size of Rhode Island.

There are a whole bunch of countries that could fit into his living room.

Lets make a list: the Italian land locked country of San Marino is a mere 24 sq. miles, Andorra (between Spain and France) is 180 sq. miles with 180,000 people, and Liechtenstein is a paltry 62 sq. miles (but they produce beautiful stamps). The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is less than half the size of Ted-istan … The list goes on and on .
I wasn’t going to mention it… but what does he REALLY want with all that land and should we be concerned?

Like many Americans, I do admire someone who can build so much from so little… but most Americans do worry about so much power in any one person’s hands.
