the fight never ends....

“The most spiritual men, as the strongest, find their happiness where others would find their destruction: in the labyrinth, in hardness against themselves and others, in experiments.

Their joy is self-conquest.

Difficult tasks are a privilege to them, to play with burdens that crush others, a recreation. They are the most venerable kind of man: that does not preclude their being the most cheerful and the kindliest.”

— Friedrich Nietzsche

Which University to Attend? Which to Avoid?

Hero of the Oppressed

Selecting the university to attend now-a-days is a function of many factors:  academic reputation, social experience and the ever present “which is best for my career”? However, many students enter their university experience only to find themselves marginalized and the subject of unwanted administrative and faculty harassment. This is something every parent… and student should consider. Are you really getting what you are paying for?

In a few days , the premier of  “Indoctrinate U”  will appear in Washington, D.C. and I only wish I could attend… but I will in spirit.

Here’s one short review on the prequel:

“For those who haven’t been on college campuses recently, Maloney’s documentary is eye opening.”
– American Enterprise, On Brainwashing 201

“Non-left academics are harassed for their political views. Students who show a conservative bent are threatened… Campuses are supposed to be marketplaces of ideas where issues stand and fall on their merits. Brainwashing 201 [the short-form precursor to Indoctrinate U] demonstrates effectively that this is now far from the case.”

SoOOooo…

“Mark your calendars for the evening of Friday, September 28th, when
Indoctrinate U will make its public debut at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Tickets are now on sale for the event,
which is organized by
the
American Film Renaissance.

Tickets are also available
for the after-party to take place across
the street at 600 Restaurant in the
infamous Watergate Hotel.”

Good Luck, Evan!

PS. Part of what’s wrong with many universities today is many have forgotten about their true mission and who they serve. Was it Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in which Evan Maloney was told by some University sycophant that he had not been ‘granted an audience’ with ‘allegedly’ the aging Cal Poly President &  “Sheldon Awardee”  Warren Baker?

Burquini …. this year’s best gag gift

Nope.... leaves too much to the imagination

Well, those evil cartoonists are at it again! First, it was those Dutch guys making fun of Islamic Fundamentalist Extremists ( ‘terrorists’ for short )… now it has gone main steam in my dear “OPUS”. I am all for appropriate ‘modesty’… but ‘holy Paris Hilton, Batman, this is ridiculous!”

Well, I guess we should have expected the usual threats to cartoonists, protests from the typical sources and boycotts from sympathetic newspapers have failed to discourage  OPUS  from being read and enjoyed by millions. Free speech is a beautiful thing… when it happens.

By the by, I am very much aware of “Islamic” fashion and here is a link to study as recommended by OPUS: ahiida.com . In case you think you are superior, your female relatives probably dressed like this… back in the 13th century, too.

Southern California Trojans ROMP!

Do I look smug? Yep!

Someone once said,”modesty is the ultimate form of conceit.” So let me add some well deserved praise by saying that the  University of Southern California  is a wonderful school with an  incredible athletic program.  I am proud to have earned two graduate degrees here.

Frankly, I can’t imagine having attended any school that didn’t value athletics. College without athletics is… well…. like going to a one gender school… boring. Now, I know some of my professor friends are happy to go to schools like Cal Poly just because athletics is so devalued… but it is easy to explain their disinterest… they were all picked last in grade school pick-up sports games. Jealousy sometimes lasts a lifetime.

always a fun time on Game Day!

So, when you are thinking about choosing your university experience… find a college that meets your academic interests … but also a place where you can spectate or participate in meaningful athletics. It adds the spice, seasoning & entertainment to any university experience.

Fight On!
