The First Woman to become a Four Star General?

will she be the first women who becomes a four star general?

Lt. General Anne E. Dunwoody of the Army has been nominated to become the first female four star general. General Dunwoody has 33 years of service ( 1975) and has had a number of command positions.

If confirmed by the Senate, she will be the first woman to gain a fourth star ( the first female 3 star general was in 1970). In the armed forces of the United States there are currently 57 active duty female general officers.

Good Luck and hopefully congratulations to General Dunwoody.

Army Engineer Change of Command

Kristin Relinquishes Command of Army Engineer Company

My daughter Kristin relinquished her Army Engineer Company Command in Hawaii! We’re very proud of Kristin.

Kristin’s Change of Command Ceremony had a wonderful historic flavor … as did the celebrations afterward! Obviously, over the week, we had to dine at all the great places: Ruth Chris, Hatsuhana and Momoyama.

One of the highlights – for me – was receiving a ‘challenge coin’ from Major General “Ray” Mason.

Peter’s Chocolate : the best of the best!

Peter's Chocolate!

Oh, I know people who think they have had wonderful chocolate. I even know folks who debate on the best places to buy this or that. No store carries what I REALLY want!
They don’t really know chocolate. They don’t love it. They don’t know Peter’s Chocolate.

Peter’s Chocolates has a wonderful history. Years ago, Peter’s was part of the Nestle’ family of products … and there hangs a story. While I was in marketing at Nestle’, it was customary to exchange samples between managers of various products for scientific research purposes…. Ahem! I would bring down a couple of cases of Chocolate Chips and trade for a case of Peter’s Coating Chocolate…. the best!

Unfortunately, Peter’s Chocolate is no longer owned by Nestle’, but the chocolate is still the standard! Pictured above is a ten pound block of ‘Ultra’… the best of the best! There is nothing finer — in my humble opinion — anywhere!

So, I am bringing to my daughter Kristin’s Change of Command Ceremony 50 lbs… less my taxation. The perfect gift for the chocolate lovers – and there are many — in her company and brigade.

How did I acquire this? Ah, with the help of an old friend….

PS. I have a desire to bake a favorite Chocolate chip recipe of mine to celebrate… something from my old days hanging around the test kitchen at Nestle’.

John McCain & the Reagan Coalition

the NEW Reagan Coalition
What’s not to like about John McCain?

John brings together the same groups that Ronald Reagan did back in 1980. His attractiveness to each group is a bit different that President Reagan, John has many more moderates and folks on the left… but the coalition is in many significant ways… the same.

Now, I do understand that there are some vocal ‘conservatives’ that want to turn themselves into ‘suicide voters’ by supporting democrats… but these are your ‘abortion-is-everything’ conservatives and neither side of this debate can swing this election…. though the ‘social conservatives’ may try by linking to other issues they may feel are sexy with the voters… but the coalition behind McCain is formidable. bring it!

Of course, John McCain might throw a bone by putting a social conservative on the ticket as President Reagan did by placing a liberal Republican on his ticket. We shall see… politics makes such strange bedfellows.

Besides, a ‘suicide’ voter is already dead from the neck up.
