Well…. it seems like we are planning for our next ‘event’ just as we finished ‘Bobotie’ this past weekend. ‘Beef Stroganoff’ is a great popular dish in America from the 1950’s… although it’s origins are Russian via China…. some say.
I am looking through a lot of recipes… some with slight changes here or there or outright departures. Those that interest me add a bit of wine to the sauce or spirits to the meat.
Which wine? Something robust like a Barbera or a Valpolicella is traditional… although a South African Cabernet Sauvignon should be wonderful.
Ah well… I have some time to decide before Saturday.
