Inside the seals in Iraq

My daughter Kristin gave me this wonderful book for Christmas “American Sniper” by Navy Seal Chris Kyle. Like “no Easy Day”, I sat down and read it in one day!

What is unique about “American Sniper” is not just Chris Kyle’s perspective… But the inclusion of long sections written by his wife that added a meaningful perspective on the sacrifices everyone made.

For those looking for drama and action it is there… Even a bit of family and romance. The story to me was also about Chris finding what was valuable in this world, moving on and paying back to those who made his life successful and meaningful.

I don’t think it hurts the story to say that Chris is learning the value and contribution to the greater good in being a better husband and father. His contributions speak for themselves… But what he is now doing also helps build a better future.

I am reminded that one of the top Christmas wishes for this year… Was for a father.

7 navy seals can’t be wrong

Seven Navy Seals were given nasty letters in their files for advising a video game manufacturer in a new game!

One of the seals who helped was involved in the hit on Osama Bin Laden. The seals are ” alleged ” to have divulged “secrets”. So far, in playing the game, I haven’t found anything interesting… Except a lot of “bad guys” biting the dust.

I think this is a great game ( you can use a second disk to play it in HD)… Plus… With the Seals involved, I love the authenticity.

Worth it even at twice the price!

Do You have YOUR copy??

If you wondered what really happened in the assault to kill Osama Bin Laden, wonder no more. Mark Owen ( an alias that I suspect is a combination of the names of friends or lost comrades) answers many of your questions. I found the authoritative pictures and the back story of becoming a Seal, Seal Team Six and various deployments illuminating. I am glad they are on our side!

Oh, there was some controversy out there regarding the writing of this book, but there doesn’t appear to be any national security secrets being leaked… after all, we already get a steady stream from the White House. There will be some disappointed readers, especially those who thought the commander-in-chief lead the mission and possibly flew in the first Apache Helicopter. You really can’t blame politicians, everyone likes to share in victory; however, if things went badly, I am sure we would have learned it was all poor Leon Panetta’s fault at the Pentagon. That’s the way things always go.

This book is well written and something that everyone should read. Buy it and you will enjoy it.
